Vectorcardiogram of complete right bundle branch block with left axis deviation by the Frank and Kimura systems.

چکیده
Vectorcardiogram (VCG) recorded by both the Frank and Kimura systems were examined in 45 patients with complete right bundle branch block (RBBB) and left axis deviation (LAD) to investigate the relationship seen on electrocardiogram (ECG) between RBBB with LAD and bilateral bundle. The sample included: 13 cases of type SI, SII, SIII, SaVF; 21 cases of type SI, SII, SIII, aVF; and 11 cases of types SI, SII, SIII. VCG recorded by the Frank system were classified into seven types according to the QRS loop pattern on the frontal plane and into three types according to the horizontal plane. The main findings were: (a) In the Frank system the QRS loop in the frontal plane showed a variety of patterns in RBBB with LAD. (b) On VCG of complete RBBB judged complicated by a left anterior hemiblock by the Frank system, the main portion of the QRS loop extended to the left superior or merely to the left in the frontal plane. The direction of rotation and position on the horizontal plane were not consistent. (c) The results of this study suggest the usefulness of the Kimura system as an auxiliary diagnostic technique.

Characteristics and prognosis of incomplete right bundle branch block: an epidemiologic study.
A cohort of 1,960 white men aged 40 to 56 years without initial apparent heart disease and with 11 years of annual rest electrocardiograms and 20 year mortality data was followed in the Chicago Western Electric Company Study. Incomplete right bundle branch block was found in 134 men (6.8%) at entry. During follow-up, 222 men developed such block, an incidence rate of 13.6%. Left axis deviation ...
متن کاملSignificance of complete right bundle-branch block with right axis deviation in absence of right ventricular hypertrophy.
Complete right bundle-branch block with right axis deviation was seen in nine patients who did not have right ventricular hypertrophy, pulmonary disease, or extensive lateral myocardial infarction. Four patients had chronic block and five had acute myocardial infarction. This pattern was attributed to a coexisting block in the right branch and in the inferior division of the left branch. It fre...
متن کاملRelationship of right bundle-branch block and marked left axis deviation (with left parietal or peri-infarction block) to complete heart block and syncope.
The pattern of complete right bundle-branch block (RBBB) combined with abnormal left axis deviation is shown to be the predominant conduction abnormality during orthograde (antegrade) conduction in patients who have experienced transient or permanent complete heart block (59% of a series of 44 patients). Sequential records on the same patient are presented showing progressive development of the...
متن کاملLeft ventricular dynamics in complete right bundle-branch block with left axis deviation of QRS.
SUMMARY The time intervals defined by the simultaneous recording of an electrocardiogram, phonocardiogram, indirect carotid pulse curve, and apexcardiogram made it possible to compare the left ventricular (LV) dynamics in a group of 33 cases of complete right bundle-branch block with left axis deviation (RBBB-LAD) with two control groups, one consisting of 30 cases of complete right bundle-bran...
متن کاملConduction disturbances after surgical correction of ventricular septal defect by the atrial approach.
Conduction disturbances have been documented after correction of ventricular septal defects by the ventricular route. Recently, repair of the ventricular septal defect has been through the right atrium to overcome damage to the conduction system and a right ventriculotomy. Thirty-nine children with ventricular septal defects under the age of 5 years were operated upon by the atrial route (group...
